My pup has Spring fever, and the sun is melting the dew outside, trying to convince us that a Canadian winter is finally over.

And (drumroll please) today, the first episode of the audio series DEAR HUMAN CHILD goes out to my Kickstarter backers and Substack subscribers who have signed up for the series, chapter by chapter, delivered to your inbox each week.

Narrating an audiobook can be a daunting task, to make sure standards are up to requirements for platforms like Audible. A thousand tech elements to address, before I even get to begin enjoying the process of reading the words to you. Not quite sitting around the fire with a mug of cocoa and telling stories over the sparks rising into the night, but at least this way you can carry me around on that little computer you have in your pocket and listen anytime the spirit moves you.

DEAR HUMAN CHILD is a collection of received writings, transmissions, or Love Letters from the Divine. A book twenty-five years in the making that I am so very grateful and delighted to share. Here is a taste of the prologue..

“What makes the written word poetic, and how does poetry so profoundly hold communications of spiritual wisdom and healing?

Throughout history, many great spiritual texts have been written fully or partly as poetry: the Psalms and the Song of Solomon of the Old Testament; the Quran; the Bhagavad Gita; the Guru Granth Sahib, the central religious scripture of Sikhism; the Tao Te Ching, the foundational text of Taoism; the Poetic Eddas, Norse pagan sagas; the Dhammapada, a collection of sayings of the Buddha; the Rigveda, one of the oldest sacred texts of Hinduism.

Of course, we know the works of poets such as Rumi, Hafiz, and Emily Dickinson to be rich with spiritual inquiry and expression. The Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh and Adyashanti have also explored the power of poetry as spiritual expression.

My own humble awakening in some ways parallels the journey of visionary and mystic Hildegard von Bingen. Like Hildegard, I have received words, music, chants, and prayers.

She too suffered with physical healing crises and struggled with doubt in the early years of her experience of Divine communication. Both of us were called to reject more traditional paths in surrender to an experience few others understood.

Decades and thousands of transmissions later, the selections in this initial collection have been chosen for their relevance to our extraordinary times, as well as to introduce the range of transmissions which have appeared over the years. Each oracular poem lives within its own context, while together they sing in a chorus of tolerance and trust, addressing some of the most troubling and controversial themes of our day. Most of the transmissions in this volume are dated, but some of the older ones are no longer traceable to an exact date of origin. I trust that they are meant to be timeless.

Dear Reader, as you explore these love letters from the Divine, understand that the words carry a visceral energetic effect, similar to other sacred texts.
